LEVELS OF SUPPORT
The ASO is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. A gift of any amount qualifies as tax-deductible. Thank you for your support!
Our performances are made possible through generous grants
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through grants from the Minnesota State Arts Board and the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
Financial support comes from many sources, including you—our loyal individuals and businesses—as well as the Hormel Foods Corporation, Hormel Foundation, Southeastern Minnesota Arts council, The Austin Area Foundation, the City of Austin, US Bank, FASO (Friends of the Austin Symphony Orchestra), Mayo Clinic Health System – Austin, and the Women’s Study Group. This support not only maintains the orchestra itself, but provides a special opportunity for local school children to hear quality symphonic music. It also helps us give scholarships to many of our players to continue study on their respective instruments. As Paul Heltne said in 1957, “I hope the Austin public finds it fit to support us, because the amount of support determines the future of the project.” Thank you for 55 years of support!
The Friends of the Austin Symphony Orchestra (FASO) is a support group for the Austin Symphony Orchestra. The members help to raise funds through social affairs and help to stimulate an interest in and an appreciation of music. The two projects that are given every year are a Tea-Luncheon held in November and the fundraiser Evening at the Hormel Home after one of the spring concerts.
Sue Radloff and Sonia Larson serve as co-chairs of the group.
